"Beautiful view of the bay El de els Molins. At the bottom of the sandy beach with a length of about 1.5 km"
On the road, you will see a pointer to El de els Molins, where you turn right onto a dirt road. After a mile and a half we got to the observation deck, the place is easy to determine from the several mills located here. From the 14th to the 18th centuries, 10 mills were built here for grinding wheat and other grains using the wind "llebeig" (Levantine), which always blows over Cape San Antonio. From this point there is a beautiful view of Jávea, and in the background Puig de la Llorença in Benitatxel. The Peñón de Ifach range and la sierra de Bernia also differ.
To the left of the observation deck, we observe a part of the coast that starts from the harbor of Jávea. This is the Gulf of Javea. From this place there are several very interesting hiking trails. From a walk along the mills to the ascent to the top of Montgó (11 not easy kilometers). You can also go down to the port of Javea, which will be just over three kilometers.
"Cape San Antonio is located between Mount Montgo and the sea"
We return to the road to Cap de San Antoni, and run into the second observation deck. At an altitude of 160 meters is the Cap de San Antoni, the foot of the Montgó massif, which separates Denia and Jávea. From the side of Dénia, the slopes are rather steep and unusually sharp, almost vertical. The southern part, which looks at Jávea is much more gentle. In fact, there is a good route that rises from the beach of Tangó o del Pope, and runs to the northern coast of Javea, right up to the bay. The route is very simple.
From this point, the whole Gulf of Jávea opens, closed by Cape Cabo y el Cap Prim. The next four observation platforms are located in this bay, and we are heading south towards Cap Prim.
"Views from the observation deck Punta del Arenal"
To get to the third observation deck, we return by the road along which we arrived. I advise you to go down to the port, on the first turn to the left, across the slope of San Antonio, or take a romantic walk along its picturesque slopes.
We cross the port of Jávea and its pebble beach, and follow the coast road, we get to Arenal beach, the only sandy beach of all Jávea. Admire the views of the bay, which washes the entire beach, here is our third observation deck, located above the small rocks. From here, a breathtaking Montgó picture opens. At the other end of the Punta del Arenal
we can see the Parador Nacional, a separated bay, one of the old mouths of the Gorgos River, today it is used as a pier for boats. In the background is clearly highlighted Cabo de San Antonio, where we come from.
"The unusual place of the coast of Javea, stands out with a beautiful view and a rough rocky surface"
We continue to move south. To our left is a chalet located near the beach. Slightly less than half a kilometer we find the fourth platform. This bay is shaped like a moon. Its formation consists of soft rocks, which are easy to process, and are very popular in the construction of houses. This bay was dug in the rocks, which allowed the water to get inside, where the Salinas, called El Saladar, were formed.
From here, if you look to the south, you will see Cap Prim so close that it seems possible to reach it. Also in the zone of visibility is a beautiful beach that ends at the first mountain of La Caleta, where our next observation deck is located.
"A beautiful place at sunrise and sunset. Very popular in summer, but calm in the off-season"
We continue on the same road, parallel to the sea, heading south to the very end, which ends at a roundabout. We leave the car and make a pleasant walk, no more than 100 meters long, we arrive in La Caleta. On the right side, there are several steps that lead us to our viewing platform from which we can see in detail a small bay enclosed by white cliffs. Hence the name Cala Blanca.
On the right, a rock in this bay forms a natural springboard, where children and adults compete in the skill of diving. From La Caleta, we continue along the cliffs near the sea in the direction of the second bay, where our next point of view.
"Caletes are surrounded by rocks, so there is very calm. It’s just incredible how clear the water is here."
From our observation point on Cala Blanca there is a small path through the mountain, which will lead us to our next point. The distance between them is no more than 150 meters, it is located on the second ascent. We are already seeing coves that are located on the northern part of Cap Prim, such as cala del Francés and cala de la Sardinera.
We have reached the end of the bay. Those small bays that are formed along the entire length of Cap Prim are quite difficult to access, some are only accessible by boat, but the surrounding calm and clean sea make the excursion fascinating and desirable. Our next vantage points are already visible in the southern part of Cap Prim, on steep cliffs that extend from our present location to Granadella, passing through Cabo de La Nao and Cap Negre.
"This is a beautiful place surrounded by pines on one side and a magnificent view of the sea on the other."
We are measuring Ultramar street to the first intersection, where we turn left onto España. So we continue to go straight to the next intersection, where we will see the direction of Portiсhol. This winding road runs between the villas and the pine forest. After about 3 km on the left, at the turn, we will see a wooden cross, which is the Portixol cross. This part of the journey can be overcome both by car and by enjoying the views of the surroundings, in an exciting walk.
From this place we will see right in front of us a small island of Portixol, and on the right, closing the entrance to the small bay of Cap Negre. From this place, for lovers of hiking, there are two routes. They are completely uncomplicated, and lead us, one to the bay of Portixol, and the other to the top of Cap Prim, and the bay of La Sardinera. The road with magnificent views of the sea, passing through a pine forest.
"One of the most beautiful corners of the Javea region. A great place to spend time with family and friends."
To get to the next point of our study of the observation decks of Jávea, we will continue to move towards Cabo de La Nao. Here we need to get on the bypass road leading to Cala de la Barraca or Portixol. On the way down this road we turn right, following the sign. And we are right in front of Cala de la Barraca, its southern part.
To the right of us will be the same bay Cap Negre. If you happen to be in this place when the sea is calm, and this is almost always the case, then enjoy the spectacular views of the sea. Although in windy weather these places have their charms. The view of the Mediterranean is like a pool with all the colors of the range of colors that range from dark blue to sea green. The area has crystal clear water, and the number of stones makes it an ideal place for diving.
"That moment when you thought that it could not be more beautiful"
We return to the Cabo de La Nao road to find the next La Falzia observation deck. From here we will appreciate Portixol Bay with its huge pine forest, which reaches the cliff itself. In the background we see the long sleeves of Cabo de San Antonio and Cap Prim with its many islets.
The distance between the coast and the island of Portixol, if you are in good shape, then you can reach it by swimming. From here to the magnificent Mediterranean Sea, washing the cliffs of Javea, the ideal place of observation.
"This is a peaceful place, great for walking."
We are forced to return to the road to Cabo de La Nao, in order to find our last point on the map of viewing points. After a long straight line, past the La Granadella detour, we turn left onto the road leading to the urbanization of Balcón al mar. The distance to there, a little less than a kilometer, and it is probably the most exciting of all viewing platforms. We are located on Cape Cap Negre, where we also lined up in front of us - Cap Prim and Cap de Sant Antoni. The island of Portixol completes our overview of the rocky coastline of the city of Javea.
Going down the route to the right, we can continue to go until we reach the foot of the Cap Negre cape, named after the black spots on its cliffs. Be careful at the height, approaching the edge of the cliff, although the road itself is quite wide. The tranquility of the walk nothing can break, only a few boats on the horizon violate the calm.
We explored 10 great places around Javea. Amazing places and what you see there will be a long time to reopen your imagination. And we are sure that the next opportunity to come to Spain, visiting these places will be included in your plans. Have a good rest and exciting adventures on the Costa Blanca.
